Salvatore Santoro

Salvatore Santoro

Brand History

The eponymous founder, Salvatore Santoro, began his professional journey in 1987, focusing on leather research and leather‐processing. Over the next 20 years he developed expertise in working with leather, including experimentation, customising machinery, and complex finishing processes. In 2007, he founded his brand for both men's and women's outerwear.

Style & Influence

The brand emphasises an artisan approach: for example, using natural garment dyes, “waxed linen thread” for seams, and allowing the small imperfections of handmade production to show. Leather tanning is done exclusively in the Solofra district (Italy), which is symbolised as an area of excellence in leather tanning. The brand positions itself as “Made in Italy” with artisanal production.

Latest Campaign

The focus remains artisan outerwear: premium materials + finish, rather than broad fashion categories. Emphasis on neutrals and timeless silhouettes (trench, bomber, shearling) suggests a move toward pieces intended for longevity, rather than fast trend turnover. The inclusion of patterned or statement items (e.g., snake-print leather) shows the brand is not just conservative but willing to offer more distinctive pieces for style-seeking customers.
