MM6

MM6 Maison Margiela is the contemporary diffusion line of Maison Margiela, created in 1997 to translate the house’s conceptual design language into more wearable, everyday fashion. Unlike the main Maison Margiela line, which is known for highly experimental runway pieces and radical deconstruction, MM6 focuses on practical ready-to-wear collections while keeping the brand’s signature codes intact. This includes asymmetry, oversized proportions, reworked basics, and subtle subversive twists on classic wardrobe staples. MM6 is also known for its understated branding approach—using minimal labels and numerical references instead of overt logos—while still maintaining a strong identity rooted in Margiela’s avant-garde philosophy. In essence, MM6 sits between conceptual fashion and daily utility, offering a more accessible entry point into Maison Margiela’s design universe without losing its experimental edge.
