RIER

RIER is a Paris-based fashion label founded in 2019 by Andreas Steiner, a designer originally from South Tyrol. Drawing on the clothing traditions and landscapes of his Alpine upbringing, Steiner reinterprets regional references through a contemporary wardrobe that moves beyond conventional gender distinctions. The label’s identity centres on the relationship between rural heritage and modern life, bringing mountain influences into an urban setting without treating them as costume. Dense wool fabrics, textured fleece, embroidery, and utilitarian details form part of a design language shaped by practicality and cultural memory. Familiar outdoor silhouettes are reconsidered through proportion, material, and restrained styling, allowing traditional elements to feel relevant rather than nostalgic.
